Brighton is one of the largest and most vibrant  seaside resorts in England.

Situated on the South Coast and less than an hour from London, the resort is popular with people from all over the south of England for days out and weekends away.

Brighton, became known as The City of Brighton and Hove in 2001. This is when Brighton was granted city status  by Queen Elizabeth as part of the millennium celebrations in 2000.

Brighton is a mix of old and new. The Hotels along the Seafront are some of the best in the UK, if not the world. Most are housed in the traditional Victorian buildings, but at the same time everything in and about Brighton is totally modern and up to date. As well as the Hotels there are many bars and eateries along the sea front.

Opposite the seafront hotels sits wide promenade, separating the hotels from the famous Brighton  pebble beach, which has featured in many tv shows and films.

The Brighton Pier is another famous Brighton landmark, again frequently used as a filming location. Facilities on the pier include amusement arcades and fairground rides. There are also bars and food outlets, as well as a fine array of souvenir shops.

Being just over 50 miles from the capital city of London makes Brighton a popular place for major conferences. Most of the UK,s political parties hold some of their annual conferences in Brighton.

It is also a place where many of the newly formed technology companies are choosing to base themselves.

The Brighton Marina is one of Europes largest marina’s and water sports centers, the marina is also home to some high end shops, clothing and jewelry as well as many others.

The city centre of brighton offers some of the best shopping in the UK , with The Churchill indoor shopping centre being the main feature, it is here that you will find all of the big name shops.

As well as the up to date City centre you should also visit the Brighton Lanes, this area is located adjacent to the city centre and consists of a network of narrow streets. This area of Brighton dates back to the eighteenth century, and today is home to many shops which you will not find anywhere else in the world.

Brighton offers possibly the best nightlife in the UK, maybe Europe, there are hundreds of Clubs and bars, this makes the resort very popular for stag and hen parties.

Being on the South Coast of the UK Brighton experiences the best weather in the UK, June, July and August tend to be the warmest months, usually sunny with temperatures around 20 degrees. However as with anywhere in the UK , rain can always be expected.

Gay Brighton

Brighton has become popular with the gay community, and as such is home to many gay bars and hotels.

The city holds the largest gay pride festival in the UK, and this years 2015 will be extra special as it marks 25 years of gay pride in Brighton.

Brighton is also popular for gay marriage ceremonies.

Brightons Royal Pavilion

A famous Brighton landmark that should not be missed is the Royal Pavilion. Built as the seaside palace of Prince Regent (George IV).  The Brighto Pavilion has since been transformed into one of the most striking buildings in the United Kingdom.

The Pavilion is home to  furniture and works of art which includes many  original pieces loaned by Queen Elizabeth and a superb display of fine Regency silver-gilt. The fabulous balcony of the Brighton Pavilion Tearoom,  overlooks the Pavilion gardens, these gardens have also been fully restored to their original condition.
